Financial problems should never stand in the way of obtaining higher education, so individuals who would like to improve their skills by getting an MBA degree are encouraged to research the numerous tuition assistance opportunities available in their field.
Some prospective students may qualify for financial assistance for committing to focus on a particular area of business, such as healthcare or corporate social responsibility. Others may take advantage of their unique talents, previous qualifications or ethnic background.
For example, the National Society of Hispanic MBA's (NSHMBA) offers generous scholarship packages to future business leaders who hail from that community. The organization has just announced more than half a million dollars in financial aid this academic year, and the awards will go to 140 students from across the country.
The 2010 winners were selected based on, among other criteria, academic performance, prior work experience, community service, financial situation and future goals.
Steve Ramos, NSHMBA interim CEO, stressed the annual nature of the program, and said that the organization was "extremely excited to again give money to deserving students who are bettering themselves educationally." |
