| Students encouraged to document business schools influence in developing nations |

The Global Business School Network (GBSN) has opened the application process for a video challenge for current MBA candidates and recent graduates.
The contest encourages business students to create a video that demonstrates the positive impact that MBA programs have had on developing countries. The GBSN states that scholars from management schools have played a key role in helping these emerging markets through social innovation, healthcare improvements and shared economic growth.
A panel of GBSN member business schools, corporate supporters and experts in the field of private sector development will select three finalists. The winner will be invited to showcase his or her work at GBSN's annual conference in Mexico City in June.
"By training a new generation of problem-solvers, business schools have an enormous potential for improving the quality of life in developing countries," said Guy Pfeffermann, founder and CEO of GBSN.
The Financial Times reports that many MBA programs have embraced a more globalized agenda following the well-publicized banking scandals in recent years. Some schools are hoping that an added focus on entrepreneurship and the nonprofit sector will help rebuild an image that was somewhat tarnished by the economic crisis. |
