| Major bank hires Blair as top executive for Georgia region |

SunTrust Banks has named Kevin Blair the new chairman, president and chief executive officer of its Georgia region.
Blair, who earned his MBA degree from the George Washington University (GWU) School of Business, will succeed William Haile on May 1. Blair has been with SunTrust for 13 years, most recently serving as the geographic banking administration officer. He has held high-level positions in the retail banking, strategic finance and credit risk management departments.
SunTrust, which is headquartered in Atlanta, is one of the country's largest banking groups, serving consumer, commercial, corporate and institutional clients.
"Kevin brings a versatile and extensive banking background as well as superior leadership skills to his new role," said Jenner Wood, the president and CEO of SunTrust's Atlanta/Georgia Division. "Throughout his career at SunTrust, Kevin has displayed a passion for winning, an ability to drive results and strong commitment to the community."
Prior to earning his MBA degree with a concentration in financial management, Blair graduated magna cum laude from James Madison University with a bachelor's degree in management and economics.
