Harvard Business School (HBS) is widely considered to be the home of one of the most prestigious MBA programs in the world. Thus, getting into the reputable institution is very competitive, and one mistake during the application process can make the difference between acceptance or rejection.
Graduates of HBS are trying to lend a hand to prospective applicants through the recent release of the 2011 Unofficial Harvard Business School Interview Guide. The 40-page PDF document is available for purchase online. The institution is offering a free three-page preview of the guide on the website for The Harbus, which is the school's newspaper and the publisher of the annual report.
Applicants who read last year's guide told The Harbus that they gained valuable insight that helped them ace the interview.
"The HBS interview is very different from other schools in that it goes into extreme depth on the applicant's background, career, and most importantly, choices," one testimoinal reads, according to the news provider. "Because of the guide I was prepared for this line of questioning, and fully prepared to explain and defend the major choices I have made in life."
Catherine Leary Tomezsko, the general manager of The Harbus, told CNN that the guide features a list of 50 questions that have been asked in past interviews. Furthermore, the report contains an etiquette guide that offers dress and hygiene recommendations. |
