A recent article in the Wall Street Journal discussed an increasing trend among this year's graduating MBA degree students. According to the news source, individuals from the nation's top business schools have begun taking jobs in technology firms at a rate not seen since the era of the dot-com boom over a decade ago.
Based on data from a survey conducted by Universum, Google is the most desired-after corporation to work for, followed by McKinsey and Company, and Apple. Also in the top ten are Amazon, Facebook, and Brain and Company. More than 6,000 MBA candidates from the 72 most highly ranked business schools in the U.S. participated in the poll.
The news source cites the recent economic crisis as a major reason why the graduates of MBA programs are electing to work in other industries besides banking or finance.
"Top talent is thinking about their resume and about where they're going to be challenged and excited, which I think might explain some of the tech companies on the list," Russ Hagey, the chief talent officer at Brain and Company told the news outlet. |
